About IFQ

The Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) was launched in 2006 by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) in conjunction with the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires in Lebanon.

The IFQ is a ground-breaking, standalone qualification that covers Islamic finance from both a technical and a Shariah perspective, providing the first international benchmark in the area of Islamic finance. It provides candidates with an understanding of the influence of Shariah in a business context and prepares candidates to hold key positions in the Islamic finance and Takaful (Islamic insurance) industries. The qualification is appropriate for existing and new employees and those seeking a career in Islamic finance. Since its launch, the exam has been taken by professionals from over 500 firms in over 45 countries.

The content of the IFQ was developed under the supervision of the Advisory Council for Islamic Finance (ACIF), which is comprised of a panel of internationally recognized experts in Islamic finance and headed by the world famous scholar, Dr. Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah, member of International Islamic Fiqh Academy and Accounting & Audit Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). The ACIF oversees the IFQ.

It is internationally recognised as the benchmark qualification and certification for the Islamic banking & finance industry.
